Summer Associate Program
Hahn Loeser's summer associate program is designed to provide participating law students with the opportunity to really get to know the firm and our attorneys while experiencing what it is like to be an associate. Each student is assigned a partner mentor and an associate mentor to guide them as they work on projects for the firm's clientele. Summer associates also attend events such as depositions, oral arguments and business transaction closings with attorneys. They are brought in to some of our most important matters, and have the opportunity to work alongside our associates and partners in preparing for trial and assisting with multi-faceted business transactions.
Our summer associates are provided with feedback throughout the course of the summer, both on a per-project basis, as well as through a mid-summer evaluation. Hahn Loeser is committed to our students' success, and uses these reviews to help the participants improve their developing legal skills as much as possible.
Outside of the office, we hold several social events every summer to allow our summer associates to get to know our attorneys and each other better in a more relaxed setting. Our calendar of events changes each year, but typically includes a Welcome Happy Hour, a Pro Bono event with Legal Aid, lunch with a federal court judge, a Cleveland Indians baseball game, events with our Columbus and Akron offices, and a party at a senior partner’s home. We try to showcase what is fun and unique about each city, as well as what gives our summer associates the chance to meet attorneys across our different practice areas and cities. Our summer associates are included in any client and development events that occur during the summer program, which highlights our strong relationships with our clients and community.
